Description
The tour begins at the Mount of Olives, offering views over ancient Jerusalem. Descend to visit the Garden of Gethsemane, the Church of All Nations with its mosaic pediment, and Jewish burial tombs of Zechariah, Absalom, and Benei Hazir. Continue through the Kidron Valley to the Armenian Quarter entrance and walk along the Cardo, formerly a Crusader marketplace.
Next, explore the Jewish Quarter and approach the Western Wall, the last remaining part of the Jewish Temple destroyed in 70 A.D. Visitors can place prayer notes in the wall’s cracks. Then, follow the Via Dolorosa, the Way of the Cross, marked by 14 Stations detailing Jesus’ final journey through the Old City’s narrow lanes and markets, culminating at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, built on the site of Jesus’ crucifixion.
After Jerusalem highlights, travel past Jericho to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth at approximately 400 meters below sea level. Relax and float in its highly saline waters, known for buoyancy and mineral content. The tour ends with a transfer back to your Tel Aviv hotel.
