Description
Visit Jericho, one of the oldest cities in the world and the Biblical site where Joshua's troops caused the city walls to collapse. Explore the ancient sycamore tree from the Gospel of Luke, where Zacchaeus climbed to see Jesus.
Tour Elisha’s Spring, a freshwater source that has sustained the city for thousands of years in this arid region. Then travel 2 km to the archaeological mound of Tel Jericho, home to 23 settlement layers dating back to 9000 BC, including a Neolithic watchtower from around 8000 BC.
Continue to the Mount of Temptation, where Jesus was tempted by the devil. Take a cable car to the summit to visit the Greek Orthodox Monastery perched on the cliffs. Later, stop at Qasr el Yahud on the Jordan River, the site where John baptized Jesus and a possible crossing point for the Israelites entering the Promised Land. Visitors may choose to be baptized here.
The tour concludes at the Dead Sea, where you can float effortlessly in its salt-rich waters, apply mineral mud to your skin, and relax on the beach.
