Description
On Day 1, travel north along the coastal plain, passing Megiddo to visit the well-preserved Roman ruins at Beit Shean. Continue north through the Jordan Valley to Yardenit, a baptism site, then ascend to the southern Golan Heights via Hamat Gader. At the Shalom Observatory, enjoy views across the Sea of Galilee. Explore the excavated remains of the Talmudic city in Katzrin, then proceed to Mount Bental to see former Syrian fortifications and the city of Kuneitra across the border. Overnight accommodation is at a kibbutz guesthouse.
Day 2 begins with a tour of the Kibbutz. The journey continues north to Caesarea Philippi (Banias), one of the Jordan River's tributaries. Visit the Crusader fortress and the extinct volcano at Birkat Ram. The tour concludes in Safed, the city known for Kabbalah, where you will see synagogues, the visitors' center, and the artists' quarter.
