Mexican Restaurants in Tel Aviv

If you're craving Mexican food in Tel Aviv, you're in luck. The city’s food scene is surprisingly rich with places that get the basics right , good corn tortillas, fresh salsa, and a decent pour of mezcal too.

One of my go-to spots is Uncle Albert, tucked away near Florentin. Their tacos feel more like something you'd find in a small Mexico City dive, not the overly spiced, Tex-Mex knockoffs you sometimes get. For a more casual vibe, try Gordo. It's perfect if you want fast but tasty tacos with a bit of flair and they actually make their own tortillas, which is a win in my book.

And heads up , Tel Aviv’s Mexican joints tend to shy away from the heavy cheese and cream that you might expect. Instead, they lean into fresh ingredients, lots of chopped cilantro, and punchy chilis. If you're here in summer, sitting outside with a margarita at La Taqueria on Rothschild feels kinda right , the green sauce there is something I still think about. My tip? Go late in the evening on weekends; the places fill up fast but the buzz is worth it.
