Zipline / Ropes / Caving in Tel Aviv

If you’re staying in Tel Aviv and craving a bit of adrenaline mixed with nature, you’re in luck. While the city itself is mostly urban, there are some great spots nearby where you can go ziplining, try ropes courses, or even explore caves. The best action tends to be a short drive out, like at the Rosh Hanikra grottoes on the northern coast or the ropes courses around the Carmel Mountains.

One of my favorite things to do is head up to the Carmel or the hills near Jerusalem where some operators run ziplining tours that give you a totally different perspective on Israel’s green spaces. The ropes courses you find around Tel Aviv’s outskirts aren’t fancy amusement park setups but are more about challenge and teamwork, making them great for groups.

Caving is less common right inside Tel Aviv but explore a little further, and you’ll find some hidden limestone caves, perfect for a half-day adventure. Pro tip: if you’re going caving, bring a headlamp and wear sturdy shoes , these spots can be slippery and narrow. Also, weekends can get busy so try to book in advance or go early to avoid the crowds.
